Blessings That was just the start of our blessings. During January 2003 we hit deuces 20 times. In February, we hit deuces 14 times and 2 Royal Flushes- (1 Royal was on the 50cent machine for $2000.) In March we didn't play as much and it was not as good with only 8 deuces. In April, we played stupid and played out of our bankroll. Even though we hit the $1 deuces twice @ $1000 each, we lost our shirt. In May we came back with 18 deuces and a 50cent Royal for $2000. June, 2 Royals and 10 deuces. July, 3 Royals and 25 deuces. And then it hit!! Martha was diagnosed with breast cancer! The surgeon did a lumpectomy and a week later at the post op office visit, he said he missed some of the margins. He said the next step was to do a double mastectomy (remove both breasts) followed by radiation and chemotherapy. Her cancer marker was 52 in July. BUT 3 months later, after refusing the operation, her cancer marker was 37- well in the normal range. BLESSING-BLESSING-BLESSING!! We are convinced that the blessings(winnings) we had shared along the way were instrumental in God blessing her and curing her of a deadly disease in 3 months. God's blessings, a juice and raw/vegetarian diet saved her from being mutilated by the surgeon and maybe even saved her life. You can read her story at Cancer Be Damned. The self treatment cost us our bankroll and more. But it was well worth every penny. We finally scraped up a few dollars and in October, we started playing again but at a reduced level. We are still recovering and hope to get back into full action soon. I did not share the above information about our winnings to be bragging. I just wanted you to see the possibilties. BUT all is NOT gold that glitters- most of the winnings were put BACK in the machines in order to win again. So don't be fooled by the figures. Our net for 2003 was a loss of about $1000.00. But considering the cashback, food comps and room comps, we did pretty good. AND remember- we shared each of our blessings with a needy or less fortunate person for a lot of out of pocket cash. |
