Blessings-Shared

Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them.
If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."
...Matthew 6.1

Understand, the blessings you share MUST come from your heart! They MUST NOT be designed to enhance your personal image nor your business image. The scripture above clearly shows disfavor for these acts.

Do not stand on a pedestal to tell other men of your generosity, for most are greedy and will think of you as a fool, and they will not hesitate to reach out with open palms for "their" share.

What you share MUST come from your heart and MUST be without restrictions.

If you feel the need to share with a wino, don't tell him/her how to spend your gift. Your sharing comes from your heart and was put there by God. So you have done what God wanted you to do. Now what the wino does with your gift is between him/her and God and is not your concern.

Or, if your heart tells you to share your blessings(winnings) with a busom-heavy cocktail waitress, then do it. Just because she is a cocktail waitress doesn't make her an evil person any more than you being a gambler makes you an evil person.

Do it because God put that message in your heart, NOT because you expect personal favors from her. God has a reason for everything- maybe she or a familt member has medical or financial problems that her earnings won't cover and needs a little blessing to get her through trying times.

Or, maybe she doesn't need your blessing and will in turn feel the need in her heart to share with the needy. Just maybe your sharing will put her on the right path to God.

DON'T EVER QUESTION GOD'S WILL!

Our Shared Blessings

Now we will share with you a few tales of our "Blessings- Shared. This is only meant to show you how we share our blessings and maybe give you some ideas of how you can share. We share with our heart- how you share must be between you and God.

We share frequently with cocktail waitresses, cleanup persons, waiters and low income casino staff, and we actively seek and share with others outside the casinos.

And to our amazement, shortly thereafter, blessings often abound.

Our Favorite Cocktail Waitress

We usually play at adjoining machines. But this time, only one machine was available on one side of the machine bank and another on the other side.

Shortly after we started playing, the cocktail waitress with which we had previously shared blessings came by. In a show of recognition, she put her hand up and said that my wife had already ordered my usual coffee and bottle of water.

I played a couple of hands and went to the other side of the bank to give my wife a $20 bill for a tip(blessing). (I like for her to do the tipping so the waitresses don't think I'm coming on to them). We were in a downward slump and our bankroll was very low. When I saw a concerned look on her face at the amount of the tip, I made a "do it" gesture and walked away.

I went back to my machine, played 5 more hands and hit deuces!

This has happened numerous times shortly after sharing our blessings with this particular waitress. Sometimes after ordering our drinks we will put aside a nice tip(blessing) and before she returns, we hit a jackpot.

Since we feel the need to share with her, we believe that God has a plan for her to use our gifts. We never share with the expectations of getting something in return, but in our experience, that usually happens.

Let's analyze the situation. I could give the waitress the usual $1 tip and put the other $19 back in the machine and I suppose "bless" the casino stockholders. But God put the message in my heart to share with the cocktail waitress- NOT the casino stockholders.

Something like "Robin Hood"- taking from the fortunate and giving to the less fortunate.
