Blessings-Shared

"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them.
If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."
...Matthew 6.1

Thanksgiving Apple Pie

We had received 2 coupons for apple pies for Thanksgiving. One was from Sam's Town and the other from Boulder Station. Having just beat her battle with breast cancer, Martha was still on her juice, raw/vegetable diet. So I knew that I couldn't eat 1, let alone 2, apple pies.

After getting a pie from Sam's Town, I drove towards Boulder Station. As I changed lanes to turn into Boulder Station parking lot, I saw a haggard looking man on the sidewalk pushing his late model Cartillac which obviously contained his worldly possessions. I felt a need to share with him but the traffic was too heavy so I had to continue.

Martha went in and picked up her second apple pie. While she was gone I kept thinking about the homeless man. When she returned, I went out the back entrance and turned onto Lamb Blvd and headed toward Boulder Highway.

At the intersection, I looked to my right and there he was. I took out a $20 bill and told Martha to give it and one of the apple pies to him. Hopefully he had a happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, yes, we have many more stories to tell of our shared blessings. But we had rather hear a few of your shared blessings.

As I said earlier, when God puts a needy person in your path, you will know it. You may have to do a flipflop or turn around at the next intersection, but you can find a way back to that person. Then you give what you feel in your heart.

Whatever you decide to share is between you and God- no one else.

And remember this- it matters not what the recipient does with the blessing, you have done what God wants you to do. What the recipient does with your blessing is between them and God.

Let's take a look at our plan.
